The SaberCat 1 helicopter is a fully customized airborne studio that offers the most comfortable and state-of-the-art environment for your aerial filming needs. Every aspect of the airship has been analyzed to determine and implement the most optimal features for aerial cinematic production.
The SaberCat 1 features the latest in aviation systems incorporating an audio-video console between the crew seats allowing the camera and additional equipment to interface with the aircraft. Integrated into the center console is an iPod and secondary audio panel for the crew, camera man and/or DP. The audio/video panel on the console provides power to the 15” Marshal “Sunbrite” Monitor and Astro Systems 3208 Wave Form/Vector Scope Monitor Display installed and mounted to the Dart/Geneva P165 system aft of the copilot seat.
An 8.4” Marshal “Sunbrite” Monitor installed on the copilot’s side of the primary instrument panel provides easy access to the monitor’s contrast/color adjustments for both DP/camera operator and pilot. The audio/video panel on the console includes FM provisions as well as an input for a portable HD DVD player and auxiliary power adapter. Also part of the production package is a variety of recording options to choose from.
An avionics package consisting of dual Garmin 420Ws, a GMX-200 MFD with Traffic, GTX-330 Digital Transponder, GDL-69A Data Link for XM weather and radio, Avidyne Traffic Advisory System, Technisonic TFM 500, C406N-HM ELT with NAV and a Radar Altimeter for holding precise altitude heights below 100 feet adds to the remarkable capabilities of the SaberCat 1 helicopter.
Other enhancements include the replacement of all factory-installed windows with Tech-Tool’s tinted windows, Integrated Flight Systems air-conditioning and a fully articulating searchlight mounted to the nose of the aircraft. Additionally installed are dual sliding doors and hard points precisely placed in the floor to securely harness a camera person with a hand held system, the ship is set up for optimal exterior filming on either side of the aircraft.
